Adult Learning for Agile Coaches and Managers
This one-day interactive seminar provides an introduction to adult learning principles and tools for agile coaches and managers. The seminar will prepare coaches and managers to use adult learning principles and tools to successfully introduce agile work to teams and to greatly enhance their support work of agile projects in progress.
In Agile Work, people are engaged in a process that demands a transformation of cultural and individual outlooks to work. Agile work is collaborative as opposed to individualistic. This seminar will help coaches better understand their role as change agents in this transformative process. In order to understand how to foster collaborative work and learning, a coach must have a basic understanding of adult learning principles such as fostering participation, self-directed learning, critical self reflection, transformative learning and an understanding of the role learning styles play in people's comfort levels with this new process.
RECONCEPTUALIZING THE ROLE OF AGILE COACHES AS CHANGE AGENTS IN A TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING PROCESS

Interactive presentation on different approaches to critical reflection
Practice: Exercise in asking critically reflective questions, creating a mechanism for critical reflection of group process and becoming a critically reflective coachFostering Participation and Self-Directed Work (90 minutes)
Interactive presentation and exploration of concepts of empowerment and disempowerment, the way we use our power as coaches and managers, how to work with people on their own terms
Practice: Learning a method for Consultation and Dialectical CommunicationIntegration: Application of Reflection to Case studies (105 min)
Small group exploration of case studies of common learning barriers teams face at various stages of the process. Group will devise strategies to deal with challenges in light of the theories and tools explored in the day.Critical Reflection on the Seminar Experience (30 minutes)
