Coaching, Consulting & Training Services

We offer a complete lineup of Agile Coaching, Consulting, and Training services. The best return on investment comes from a combination of all three.

Agile Business Coaching

The people in an organization who understand business goals are critical participants in any agile process. They determine what constitutes business value and identify when it is needed – in short, they create a queue of work to ensure that teams are building the right things in the right order. While there are similarities between this role of the Product Owner and typical product management, there are also substantial differences due to the use of an agile approach which can strain a traditional product team. The Product Owners require their own training and coaching to understand their new responsibilities and to learn to work effectively with agile teams.

Agile Engineering Practices Coaching

Many organizations struggle with the quality of their software systems and products, sometimes having defect databases with thousands of items. This “technical debt” drags down an organization just as surely as a large financial debt. Time pressure causes teams to sacrifice quality. Sacrificing quality constantly adds to this debt load. A larger technical debt load slows teams down, which causes even more time pressure. Stop the vicious cycle!

Agile Process Coaching

The key to the success of agile methods rests in the hands of the people who are facilitating the process and encouraging self-organization at the level of the team. The “Process Facilitator” is a completely new job category for most organizations and people are often ill-prepared for this role. Providing strong, sustained and direct support for these people is a critical aspect of any large-scale implementation of agile methods, particularly in large organizations with a history of heavy bureaucracy.

Agile Implementation Consulting

An organization implementing agile methods sets in motion a long-term process of organizational development. Implementation consulting and coaching for those people involved in defining the implementation strategy can substantially assist in successful organizational development including: organizational learning, train the trainer programs, staff development, organizational structures, culture change, lean and agile approaches to operations and support, executive teamwork, facilities, tooling, financial modeling, customer/stakeholder relationships, metrics and reporting, process and audit considerations.

Customized Agile Training

We will customize your Agile training experience to meet your needs. Whether your training needs are a few hours or several days, we have the experience and knowledge to support you. We can provide corporate-wide training programs for teams, management, executives, the PMO, including a train-the-trainer program.

Certified Scrum Product Owner Seminar with Agile Project Management

Berteig Consulting offers a public Certified Scrum Product Owner training seminar in the unique setting of the Berteig Consulting offices. With a maximum class size of five people, this seminar is designed to allow participants to dig deep into the role of the Product Owner. The first day will be an introduction to Scrum slanted towards the role of the Product Owner. The second day will be an in-depth look at this role. After completing this course, attendees of this seminar will be able to create and manage a Product Backlog, work with a Scrum Team to create high-quality software, and use the Scrum framework to build and deliver the right software.
