Agile Business Coaching
Your business needs to make money. The people in your organization who understand business goals are critical participants in any agile process. They determine what constitutes business value and identify when it is needed – in short, they create a queue of work to ensure that teams are building the right things in the right order. While there are similarities between this role of the Product Owner and typical product management, there are also substantial differences due to the use of an agile approach which can strain a traditional product team. Product Owners require their own training and coaching to understand their new responsibilities and to learn to work effectively with agile teams.
Agile Engineering Practices Coaching
Many organizations struggle with the quality of their software systems and products, sometimes having defect databases with thousands of items! This “technical debt” drags down an organization just as surely as a large financial debt. Time pressure causes teams to sacrifice quality. Sacrificing quality constantly adds to this debt load. A larger technical debt load slows teams down, which causes even more time pressure. Stop the vicious cycle!
Agile Process Coaching
The key to the success of agile methods rests in the hands of the people who are facilitating the process and encouraging self-organization at the level of the team. The “Process Facilitator” is a completely new job category for most organizations and people are often ill-prepared for this role. Providing strong, sustained and direct support for these people is a critical aspect of any large-scale implementation of agile methods, particularly in large organizations with a history of heavy bureaucracy.
Remember, the best return on investment comes from a combination of coaching, consulting, and training.
