Agile Implementation Consulting
An organization implementing agile methods sets in motion a long-term process of organizational development. Implementation consulting and coaching for those people involved in defining the implementation strategy can substantially assist in successful organizational development including: organizational learning, train the trainer programs, staff development, organizational structures, culture change, lean and agile approaches to operations and support, executive teamwork, facilities, tooling, financial modeling, customer/stakeholder relationships, metrics and reporting, process and audit considerations.
Berteig Consulting offers expertise in formulating effective long-term agile implementation strategies. As a third-party consultant we help you ensure that strategy development is not constrained by habits of thought or cultural factors which may subvert the long-term success of your agile implementation.
A Berteig Consulting coach will examine the existing process documentation, interview methodologists, project managers, management and other staff, and examine any existing internal cases of agile and lean processes and practices.
Consulting Activities
- Initial assessment, stakeholder identification and scoping
- Investigation, ongoing assessment, and strategy development
- Concurrent coaching for in-house implementation team
- Final assessment and recommendations
- Wrap up including presentations to stakeholders
Consulting Outcomes
- The development of a team of in-house staff who are able to successfully guide the implementation of agile methods.
- A strong working draft of an implementation strategy and plan, used to benchmark and guide the adoption of agile principles, processes and practices including:
- Organizational risk factors and strengths related to agile implementation.
- Recommended time lines and scoping for agile implementation.
- Recommendations for an official “agile track” process.
- Guidelines for staff interested in adopting agile processes and practices.
Size of Effort
One Master Agile Coach with support from one primary in-house staff member and other staff as determined by need.
The time required for this engagement depends on the size of your organization. For smaller organizations this can be as little as two or three days of work, but larger organizations may require several weeks.
Remember, the best return on investment comes from a combination of coaching, consulting, and training.
